The short version
- You can use almost everything on Chik Dorjé without an account, and without giving us any personal information.
- If you create an account, we keep only what is needed to run it: your email address, a scrambled (hashed) password, your country and language settings, and the treatments you follow.
- If you join the waitlist, we keep your email address to send you launch updates. You can leave at any time.
- Your watchlist is treated as sensitive. It is visible only to you, and it is not used for advertising, not sold, and not shared.
- No advertising and no ad trackers. We count visits on our own site as anonymous totals, with no cookie and no visitor ID (see Visit statistics), and we never share them with advertisers.
- A few service providers handle data for us so the site can run. They may only use it to provide that service to us.
- You are in control. In Settings you can download everything we hold about your account, or delete your account and its data, at any time.
- We will not sell your information, and we will not use it for a new purpose without telling you first.
Who we are
This site, Chik Dorjé, is operated by To confirm: legal name of the US limited liability company that operates the site ("we", "us").
Chik Dorjé is preparing an online service for cosmetic and everyday health care. In the care service, independent licensed clinicians make prescribing decisions and licensed pharmacies dispense. That service is not open yet. Today the site gives general information only. We are not a pharmacy, a prescriber or a clinic, and we do not provide medical advice.
You can contact us about privacy at support@chikdorje.com (please put "Privacy request" in the subject line).
What this policy covers
This policy covers the Chik Dorjé website at https://chikdorje.com, including accounts, watchlists, settings and the waitlist. It does not cover other websites we link to. See Links to other websites.
What we collect and why
Information about your account
We collect this only if you create an account.
| What | Why we use it | How long we keep it |
|---|---|---|
| Your email address | To create your account, sign you in, and send the emails you ask for | Until you delete your account |
| Your password, only as a one-way scrambled ("hashed") version that we cannot read | To let you sign in | Until you delete your account |
| Your country and language settings. A new account starts with the country you are seeing at the time | To show the right regulatory information and clinician directory | Until you delete your account |
| The treatments you follow, and the date you followed each | To show your watchlist and point out new developments | Until you unfollow it or delete your account |
| When you last looked at your updates | To work out which developments are new to you | Until you delete your account |
| A reference number, the date you joined, when your settings last changed, and your last sign-in | To run your account | Until you delete your account |
The waitlist
You can join the waitlist without creating an account; the two are kept separate.
| What | Why we use it | How long we keep it |
|---|---|---|
| The email address you give to join the waitlist | To send you launch updates, and nothing else | Until you leave, or 12 months after Chik Dorjé launches, or 2 years after you joined if we have not launched by then, whichever comes first |
| Whether you are interested in men's or women's treatments (optional) | To send you the updates that suit you | The same as your email address |
| The page you joined from, the campaign details in the link you followed to the site (if any), and the date you joined the waitlist | To learn, as totals only, which pages and campaigns bring people to the waitlist | The same as your email address |
| A scrambled form of your internet address (salted and hashed, so it cannot be turned back) and the time | To stop automated sign-ups by limiting how often one connection can use the form | One hour |
We do not use waitlist details for advertising or profiling, and we do not sell them or add them to any other mailing list. Your answer about men's or women's treatments can hint at something about your health, so we protect it like a watchlist. You can leave the waitlist with the leave form on the site, the unsubscribe link in any update, or by asking us.
Information collected automatically
- Your starting country. Until you choose a country from the site menu, our web host works out a country code from your IP address and passes only that code to us, so pages show the right regulatory information (the United States if none can be worked out). We do not store it, unless you create an account, when it becomes your account's starting country.
- Security and server records. Like any website, our providers record IP addresses, browser type, pages requested and errors, to keep the site and accounts running and secure. They are kept only as long as needed for that.
- Emails. Our email service handles your address to deliver the emails we send you.
If you write to us, we keep your message and our reply for as long as needed to deal with it.
Visit statistics
We count visits on our own site without a cookie and without any visitor ID, so we cannot tell one person's visits from another's. For each visit we record the pages you view, with the time, the site or campaign that sent you, the clinics you view or click, and your device type, browser type and country code. When you click through to a listed clinic, the link carries a random reference code for each clinic click, so the clinic can tell us later whether that enquiry became a consultation or a treatment. Clinics send us only the code and that outcome, never your details. We never record account, sign-in, settings, watchlist or waitlist pages. We use this to improve the site and to report totals to the clinics we list, and keep it for 12 months. See also our consumer health data privacy policy.
What we do not collect
We do not ask for your name, date of birth, phone number, home address, payment details, photos, medical records or diagnoses. We do not collect your precise location, advertising identifiers, or use fingerprinting or tracking pixels. Following a treatment tells us you are interested in it, not that you use it.
Heidi, the AI site guide
Heidi is a chat box that helps you find your way around the site; she does not give medical advice. The messages you type to her are sent to our AI model provider to write her answers, as a service provider acting for us. We do not store the conversation or link it to your account. To stop automated use, each time you send Heidi a message we keep a scrambled form of your internet address and the time for one hour. Please do not share personal or health details in the chat.
Features that are switched off
Some features are planned but are not available and not collecting anything, including treatment records, photos, payments, a shop, prescriptions and email alerts. Before any of them is switched on, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
- Payments. If you subscribe, we will keep the Stripe subscription reference and Stripe customer reference, your account reference number, the subscription's status, when the current billing period ends, whether it is set to cancel at the end of the period, and when the record was created and last updated. Card details go straight to the payment processor, never to us.
- Prescriptions. If you start a consultation, we will keep a consultation reference number, your account reference number, the version of the questionnaire you answered, your answers to the questionnaire (health information), the consultation's stage, which clinician network and which pharmacy handled it, the clinician network's case reference and the pharmacy's order reference, the delivery carrier and tracking number, any message the clinician left for you, and when the record was created and last updated. Your answers are shared with the clinicians who review them and, if a prescription is issued, with the pharmacy that fills it.
Your health information and your watchlist
A list of treatments you follow can suggest something about your health, so we treat it as sensitive.
- Only you can see it, and it is used only to show you your own watchlist.
- It is not used for advertising or profiling, and it is not sold, rented or shared with anyone for their own purposes.
- Access by our team is limited to running, securing and supporting the service.
Some areas of care, such as sexual health and weight, are especially private. Nothing about them is collected today. Before they open, we will say here what we collect for them.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use only the cookies needed for features you ask for, plus one that remembers which campaign link brought you. We do not use cookies for advertising.
| Cookie | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
hp_country | Remembers the country you chose | 1 year |
sb-…-auth-token (and -code-verifier) | Keeps you signed in, and completes signing in from an emailed link | Until you sign out, or up to 400 days |
hv_utm | Remembers the campaign details of the link that first brought you here, so a waitlist sign-up can be credited to it. Not set if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, or in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland | 30 days |
All are HttpOnly (page scripts cannot read them), SameSite Lax, and Secure over HTTPS. If you block cookies, you will not be able to sign in.
Who we share information with
We share personal information only with service providers that run the site for us, and only so they can provide that service: our web host, our database and sign-in service, our email service and our AI model provider. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety or the security of the site. If the service is ever sold or transferred, your information may move to the new operator, who must keep to this policy.
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
Overseas storage and access
Our information is stored mainly in the United States. Some providers may access or process it from other countries. We take reasonable steps to make sure they handle it consistently with this policy.
How we protect your information
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, database rules that let each account see only its own data, and restricted staff access, and we collect as little as we can. No system is completely secure, and we cannot promise that information will never be lost or accessed without permission. If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will tell you and any authority the law requires.
How long we keep your information
Account information is kept until you delete your account; it is then removed from our live database straight away, and from backups as they expire. Waitlist details are kept for the period in The waitlist. Other records are kept only as long as needed for their purpose.
Your choices and rights
- See your information. In Settings, choose Download my data.
- Delete your information. In Settings, choose Delete my account and data. This lets you delete your account and everything saved with it.
- Correct your information. Change your country from the site menu, or ask us.
- Leave the waitlist. Use the unsubscribe link in any update, or ask us.
- Ask us or complain. Use the contact details below. We may ask you to confirm that you control the email address before we act.
Depending on where you live, you may have more rights under your local law, and you can complain to your local privacy regulator (in the United States, your state attorney general or the Federal Trade Commission).
Information about clinicians and clinics
The Care directory lists health professionals and clinics using professional information that is public or that they gave us. We do not take bookings, payments or patient details; a booking is between you and the clinic. Demonstration listings are fictional. A listing is not an endorsement; a paid listing is labelled as such and never presented as clinical superiority. Clinicians can ask us to correct or remove their listing.
Links to other websites
We link to sources, clinics and, once the shop opens, retailers. Those sites have their own privacy policies. Some shop links will be paid (affiliate) links, marked "Paid link", that tell the retailer the visit came from Chik Dorjé. Once you click through, the retailer's own privacy policy applies.
Children
Accounts are for people aged 18 and over. If you think a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We will publish any change on this page with a new date. If a change is significant, we will tell account holders before it takes effect.
